The drum base is a round plate with a raised surface. In the middle is an 8 cm high cylinder to hold the pillars for the drum. There are 4 rings on the outer wall of the drum base, which are evenly spaced. The top of the drum base is decorated with a rope pattern; the outer side of the cylinder is decorated with a coiled dragon pattern. The surface of the drum base is decorated with 5 high relief patterns. Except for the second one, which is a bull-head-shaped animal face pattern with positive and negative alternations, all of them are intertwined Kuilong patterns, and the bands are separated by plain convex ridges and triangular geometric pattern convex ridges.
