Bronze ware from the Western Zhou Dynasty
Total length: 36 cm, width: 17 cm, height: 13.5 cm. Unearthed in Shangguo Village, Wenxi County in 1974. The vessel is oval and long, with a straight rim, narrow spout, deep belly and round bottom, dragon-shaped handle, and dragon mouth holding the vessel mouth. Four flat body and animal-shaped feet. The rim is decorated with a curved pattern, and the belly is decorated with tile patterns. The bottom of the belly is cast with an inscription of 44 lines and 18 characters: "Only in the second month of the king, Jia Ziji's father made a precious Yi, and his sons and grandsons will use it forever." This is a vessel of the Jia State in the Western Zhou Dynasty. Very few bronze vessels of the Jia State are still in existence. The Jia State was located in the area of ​​Linfen City, Shanxi Province today, and was destroyed by the Jin State.
