Snake head flat handle dipper

Bronze ware from the Shang Dynasty
37 cm long, 4.8 cm in diameter. Excavated in Houlanjiagou, Shilou County in 1957. A bronze pouring vessel from the "Fangguo" period of the late Shang Dynasty. The handle is carved with two snakes playing with frogs, which is quite indicative of the northern grassland culture.
