Chen Xinfu Pot

Bronze ware from the Western Zhou Dynasty
28.5 cm in height and 22 cm in width. Unearthed in Shangguo Village, Wenxi County in 1978. A vessel for holding water or wine. Self-inscribed as a bottle, flat and oval, with curled and opposite Kui patterns on the shoulder. An inscription of 20 characters in 5 lines is cast on the neck: "Mr. Xinfu of Chen made a travel bottle to pray for longevity, eternal life and eternal life". A vessel of the State of Chen from the Western Zhou Dynasty. Very few bronze vessels of the State of Chen are still in existence.
