Ya Gan Fu Yi Jiao

Excavation Site: Excavated from a Western Zhou tomb in Weijiazhuang, Long County in 1977

Drinking vessel. Wide mouth, pointed lip, double pointed tail upturned, two mushroom-shaped columns on the rim. Straight belly wall, one side with an ox-head handle, round bottom, three-legged conical foot outward. The lid is diamond-shaped, with a central ridge, and the lid surface forms an inclined surface along the central ridge to both sides. There is a small circular button in the center of the ridge. The lid surface is decorated with two groups of banana leaf-shaped animal face patterns, and the belly neck is decorated with a circle of thunder patterns and feather patterns composed of small banana leaf patterns. The two sides of the belly wall are bounded by the Duan door ridge and decorated with two groups of animal face patterns. The inscription inside the lid is two characters "Ya Gan", and the inscription inside the handle is four characters "Ya Gan Fu Yi" (the explanation is based on the Shaanxi Bronze Inscription Collection compiled by Zhang Tianen).
